Our Biointegrale philosophy upholds the highest respect for grapevines and soils. We choose to eliminate any herbicides, chemical fertilizers, or synthetic products used for pest management. Instead, soil health and fertility is managed through organic fertilization with compost and horn manures produced on the farm.
In the vineyards, the use of tracked or rubber tire vehicles is limited and the use of animals including horses, geese, and mules is favored. Our two French draught horses, Vegas and Dinette, help us work the soil. It’s not folklore, but an ancient method that boosts the roots to the deeper layers of the soil, ensuring longevity for our plants. Harvest is strictly manual, with handpicking and thoughtful selection of grapes. Grapes are harvested after a thorough inspection of sensory (taste) and chemical (sugars, polyphenols, and acidity) characteristics. |
